Desking
Once virtually an afterthought despite being crucial to the ability of staff members to work and to the look of the office as whole, desking has undergone significant changes over the last twenty years. The introduction of new desking systems has revolutionized what is available to the client.
Growth in hot desking, the increased use of laptops versus desktops in the office, DDA and Health and Safety Executive guidelines as well as the increase in popularity of call centre style desk formations have all impacted on design. Where once wood veneers and chipboard were almost exclusively the materials used for office desking, today MFC and Ekotech are more likely to be the material of choice for most dektops. The opening up of the Eastern European market as a source for affordable but high quality desking to compete with more expensive Italian and German products have served to increase the variety of products available.
